About Me
Sassine El Nabbout is an Australian-Lebanese poet, philosopher, and physician whose work inhabits the delicate space between science and spirituality, suffering and beauty, memory and belonging. Rooted in the ancient cultural and spiritual heritage of Lebanon and shaped by his life in Australia, his writing reflects the enduring dialogue between two worlds. His poetry explores the mysteries of the humanity, love and loss, pride and humility, faith and doubt, loneliness and connection, darkness and the persistent search for light. As a doctor, he has witnessed humanity at its most vulnerable: in moments of fear, suffering, uncertainty, and profound resilience. Medicine has taught him to understand the fragility of the body; philosophy has compelled him to question the meaning of existence; poetry has become his language for what cannot be measured, diagnosed, or easily spoken. His work is a meditation on the human soul, the invisible wounds we carry, the sacrifices made quietly, the love that survives adversity, and the light that continues to shine within us even in our darkest hours. He writes at the intersection of medicine, philosophy, poetry and the eternal search for meaning.
